Rewrite the following expressions of direct quotations using only indirect quotations.

An employee can sometimes do amazing work!

Mei told herself, "I need to keep this job. Even though I've been assigned a complicated design project,  I can research how the job should be completed."

Mei went to the library. She said to the librarian, "I need information about a technical problem. Perhaps you can help me!" The librarian responded, "Tell me exactly what you need. I'm sure I can help you."

Mei researched the technology, and was able to complete her assignment successfully.

Mei's boss said, "I'm so pleased with your work, I'll give you a raise!"

Making an effort can pay off!
